Hello, you sweet little chicken nuggets and happy holidays. How are things? You might have noticed that due to lack of time I’ve narrowed my outfit posts down to one per week and, finally, I have a new one for you. This look was shot at Rover Bar, a place where I’ve spent some glorious nights since the beginning of my life as a university student. I love how the outfit just fit in with the rest of the place – all vintage and festive.
I wanted to create a christmasy look based on a main piece I already owned. This year, I didn’t feel like doing many purchases for the holiday season, mainly because I didn’t really like what was on the market but also because I thought it would be a good challenge for me, to build my NYE outfit out of stuff I already have in my wardrobe.
I picked this dress, which I have worn before on the blog, and tried to work it differently this time. I’m not a huge fan of the dress as a garment because I feel like it holds me back from being creative, so this was a double challenge for me, I guess.
Bell sleeved jumpers are huge this season and considering I love anything with a bit of a sparkle (lol too much sparkle maybe duh) and a bit of volume, this buddy looked like the perfect companion for the equally sparkly dress. Wearing a sleeveless dress over tops/blouses etc as a pinafore one is a great way of making full use of it.
I kept accessorizing light as both the jumper and the dress have that slight sparkle. I went for rose gold hues as they enhanced the vintage vibe of the look.
THESE are pure love. They are basically the long velvety version of my red and black patent leather ankle boots. Thigh high boots are great for achieving the “tall & lean” effect and velvet is your best bud when you need to add a bit of luxury to your look. Just make sure you pick the right colour and texture so that it doesn’t look cheap and you’re good to go.
“Omg capture this, and let me look all poetic and stuff.
Do I look like a dumbass? Where the hell am I looking at?”
